One of the biggest challenges we face when ordering a CPAP mask is getting the correct size, so we have adopted the fit pack model. So, what is a fit pack?
Well although it’s always highly recommended to get a personal mask fitting – it’s not always possible, especially during these difficult times with travel restrictions and personal safety risks a real concern for our patients. There has been an explosion in online sales of CPAP Masks and CPAP Machines.
Most suppliers have quite strict policies regarding the returns of masks, so selecting the wrong size can be a costly and frustrating mistake.
The fit pack model has meant we have expanded our range of CPAP Masks giving you more confidence to buy – the fit packs include all available cushion sizes.
What mask types are available?
CPAP Masks are mostly divided into three categories, Nasal Pillow, Nasal or Full Face
Nasal Pillow CPAP Masks
CPAP Nasal Pillows have become very popular over the past few years. They are recommended for use by patients who sleep with their mouths closed. Nasal pillows are the smallest of the three main types and have two small domes that fit very gently into each nostril.
Nasal CPAP Masks
CPAP Nasal Masks are probably the most popular masks used. They consist of a triangular shaped adapter that rests over the nose. As with the Nasal Pillow, the Nasal Mask is recommended for patients that sleep with their mouths closed. It’s extremely easy to use
Full Face CPAP Mask
The Full Face CPAP Mask covers both your nose and mouth and recommended for patients that sleep with their mouths open, or if you have been experiencing excessive leaks with a Nasal Pillow or Nasal mask. Air loss can compromise CPAP treatment, so the Full Face Mask can solve problems with a dry throat or nose.
